Collaboration proves to be a success in the completion of a design/build project for Community Health Centers of Snohomish County - Broadway Medical Office Building and Dental Clinic by Abbott Construction.

The 19,000-square-foot, two story facility housing 9 dental operatories, 18 medical exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms was recognized by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Washington with a 2011 Build Washington Award (Private Building under $10 Million) and achieved LEED Silver Certification.

The basis of design was to replace the two existing single story wood framed buildings into one new two story facility. Faced with the challenge of relocating the building to the opposite end of the site during the final design phase, Abbott Construction was still able to mobilize within nine weeks of starting redesign.

With the efforts of the integrated and collaborative team of the Owner, General Contractor, Designers and Subcontractors, the building was delivered on the original completion date.

To ensure that the new building is truly a “Community” facility, the front entrance incorporates a porcelain and crushed glass mural, designed and fabricated by local Cascade High School National Art Honor Society Students, which is a fitting tribute to the population CHCSC Broadway serves.
