Value Add / Engineering Evaluation

Abbott Construction is committed to provide design alternatives with competitive pricing in order for our clients to develop a menu of choices that meet their budget and design requirements. It is always our goal to meet and actually beat the Owner’s budget. With the menu of items we provide, the Owner then can make informed decisions at the Pre-construction stage to incorporate different scopes of work with the savings provided. With the knowledge we bring of construction standards and design requirements we have the advantage to know which items are important to our clients and can ensure the items that are brought to the table meet those requirements.


Risk Management

From pre-construction  through the entire construction phase, members of our team will also be engaged in developing the following risk management operational tools. This process involves identifying as many risks as possible and developing methods to mitigate them. Tools we will use to that end include:

  • Job site and project hazard analysis identification
  • Insure safety is designed into the project documents
  • Develop jobsite safety plan
  • Risk analysis
  • Site logistics plan

On-site Construction

Once Construction has commenced the key to success will be clear, timely, focused communication amongst all team members. Abbott has accomplished this on past projects by utilizing the following:

  • Budget tracking and reporting to TEC Smokey Point - Weekly
  • Schedule tracking and reporting to TEC Smokey Point - Weekly
  • Monthly executive summary report toTEC Smokey Point
  • Master tracking of all submittals and approval status/ lead times
  • Safety implementation and tracking


Quality Control Methods

Abbott Construction takes an active role in working with designers and architects regarding the selection process of materials and building systems. Attention to product selection and detailing is critical to the success of any construction project. During the design stages our quality control principles are introduced to evaluate cost effectiveness of material selections, constructability and equipment life value. These principles continue to evolve throughout the project delivery process.

Abbott Construction carefully screens recommended subcontractor and vendor companies. If we have not worked with a subcontractor or vendor before, we check all references before committing on behalf of our client’s project. We very often tour subcontractor’s offices/shops and referenced projects to better assess their quality of work.


Closeout

Our commitment is to close out the project completely 60 days after occupancy, including the following deliverables:

  • As-Built and Record Data
  • Closeout Documents
  • Final Accounting/Lien releases
